Good Morning 6th Grade!
Today, we are going to begin a new fiction story called 'All Summer in a Day' by Ray Bradbury. This is a Science Fiction story meaning elements of science and make believe come together to form a new world. Before you start to read this story, I want you to think about the following question:
Do you like rain? Some people love it and others hate it. How do you feel about rain? How does it make you feel?
Open up to your Writing About Reading section and write down some of your thoughts in regards to the above questions. Set a timer on your phone, tablet, lap top, etc.. for 5 minutes and try to write about the above questions for the entire time! Don't let your hand stop writing until the timer goes off. (This will be difficult to do AND THAT'S OK! :) )
Once you are finished with your prewriting activity, download the story and read it! If you are able to print the story, do it! You will need this story for the next couple weeks. Tomorrow we will do an activity to test our comprehension of it!
